5 Key Ways to Engage your Facebook Business Page Fans by Wendy Moore

We’ve all heard that if you are in business, you need to have a Facebook Business page or Fan page.

Now that you’ve gone ahead and built your Facebook fan page, what’s the next step?

If you build it they will come… or will they?

If you now do nothing with your Facebook page, it will do nothing for you. Congratulations, you have a cyber-slug!

If you don’t have the time to spend keeping your page updated, or you don’t have the cash in your business to pay someone else to keep your page updated, you are wasting your time. It’s that simple.

We’re a fickle crowd. If you are not keeping your page current and populated with new and interesting bits and pieces to read, you won’t be top of mind with those that have liked your page.

Without posting on your wall, your fans are not seeing your page in their newsfeed. Your fans will have to remember to find and revisit your page. They won’t.

When was the last time you actively visited a page on Facebook purely because you thought of it?

Or did you see a post or comment in your newsfeed from a friend that caught your eye and you clicked through to find out more.

My guess is option 2 . Most of us operate that way. We see what others are doing or talking about and then go and have a look see.

With that in mind, how can you apply the browsing habits of most online users to your Facebook page strategy to ensure people continue to visit your page?

1 . Post 2 to 3 times per week

Yes, per week. Be on your wall posting articles, comments, questions, videos, photos, etc at least 2 to 3 times per week to keep your page fans engaged.

If you are not talking to your page visitors, someone else will be.

2 . Post at different times of the day / different days of the week

Unless you know exactly when your page fans are online, make an effort to post at different times of the day and also, post on different days of the week.

By posting at different times of the day, you can make sure you are appearing in the newsfeed of your fans at differing times. People are online at different times of the day. Some like to early morning browse. Some jump online after lunch. Others do a quick catch up on what’s happening at dinner time or when they’ve finally put the kids to bed and have a few moments to themselves.

Likewise, some people are more active on weekdays. Others browse on the weekend when things have slowed down at work.

Know when your target market is online and post specifically to tap into their peak browsing times.

3. Repost your content

It’s perfectly fine to write one single article and post the same article to your wall 2 or 3 times. Just make sure you spread out the time between the posting.

For example , you may post an article at the start of the month and repost it at the end of the month. Why? No one can possibly be on Facebook 24 hours a day. There will be fans that would love to read your content but were not online when you first posted it.

Reposting gives people the chance to catch it on the second time around.

4. Post Content from other Sources

Be seen as in information disseminator. As well as sharing your own information, source material that you know will appeal to your target market.

If you read an article that was helpful to you in business, chances are, it will also benefit others. So share it.

Your Facebook page visitors will appreciate the gesture and may even “on-share” it, citing you as the reference point where they found it.

This is where the ability to tag in Facebook can be really useful. An article you found and posted can easily be shared as a link by someone else, with a tag to your page as a thank you for sharing. Win-win!

5. Respond to Comments or Questions

If someone posts a question or a comment on your page, reply. Sounds simple, but I’m amazed how many people don’t even bother to visit their own page to see what is happening on the wall.

Engaging with your visitors is an ideal way to establish rapport and build up a following of loyal fans who will love to hear from you.

If you do this, chances are next time they have a question in your field of expertise, they’ll ask you. Their friends will also see that they’ve posted on your Facebook business page wall and some will click through to see why.

Why Did you Build a Facebook Business Page?

Your aim when building a Facebook business page should be to generate traffic to your page, as a source of potential leads, clients and customers.

Your challenge is to keep them interested when they get there. Keep them engaged. Keep them coming back.

That way they’ll see you as the expert and seek your advice and opinion when they have an issue to solve or question to ask.

Creating And Promoting Your News Letter - free article courtesy of ...

THE CREATION

If you haven't got around to starting a news letter, I will Let you know it's easier than you think! I will start on the pretence that you have already established your website. That means you already have a topic of conversation. It doesn't matter if you are doing a site on multilevel marketing, or religion, or stories that inspire, you will want to keep your news letter based on that topic.

There are a few different methods to starting your news letter. I will cover two of them.

One option you have is to use outlook express to manage your news letter. You can even use it to create HTML style news letters Like the big sites do.

Here's the steps to do that:

  1. Click on create mail
  2. Click on view
  3. Click on source edit
  4. Notice that three tabs show at the bottom. Click on source
  5. You can now modify the code however you want (if you don't know html click: http://www.freeandfrugal.com/ebooks.html)

Just a tip --
Link to graphics through your website, if you link them to your computer they may not show in all email boxes.

The second option is a more professional aproach, you can get a script for your website that works great. You will need to be able to run your own cgi scripts on your server to take advantage of this offer. This is a great script that I have used my self and dont have one complaint yet. Click the following link to get this script for your site:
http://www.dtp-aus.com/cgiscript/allcgi.shtml

Once your news letter gets large enough you will want, and most likely need, to use this option. The best thing about using this script is that your subscribers are automatically added with the sister script and unsubscribed by either the sister script or the script I am suggesting. Both save you time and money, as they are free.

All that is left for you to do is come up with content for your news letter, even if it's something as simple as site updates.

Promotion

You will want to promote your news letter because you will find that just a simple link or banner that says subscribe isn't good enough. You may want to use a popup or a pop under window letting people know about you news letter. You can use the pop up upon visitors entering or exiting your website. I suggest using the pop under as it is far less intrusive.

A great place to generate this code for free is: http://willmaster.com/possibilities/members. You will only have to sign up for the weekly news letter. For all the great free tools and you can use for having a free membership, it will be well worth it!

Offer an incentive to subcribe to your news letter or ezine, like a free E Book, free membership, or maybe a chance to win a prize. Your subscription rate will double!

Another far more effective way of promoting your news letter is through a subscription service. You can learn how to build your subscriber news letter base. quickly, easily, and inexpensively with valid, 100% double opt-in subscribers guaranteed! You can choose from the number of subscribers you would like to have every month so you wont have to break the bank. You won't have to waste your time with worry about the hassle and aggravation of having to track your results -- you only pay for what they deliver! Click now to learn how:
http://www.freeandfrugal.com/cgi-bin/to.cgi?l=listopt

This is most likely one of the best methods of paid advertising online. These are your guaranteed return visitors. You want to keep your subscribers so don't bombard them with emails or you will lose them. Daily and a couple of times a day are to much! Let them know how often they will hear from you so that you are not loosing them. This mostly is directed at those of you who want to email your subscribers more than once a week.

Computers..How to tell if your getting a rabbit not a turtle by ...

Normally you go to your local computer retailer to buy a new computer. The salesman may boast looky here this one has a such & such speed, this much memory, a huge hard drive, etc . You read the box and sure enough it seems like a powerhouse. But is it?

What the salesman or the box for that matter, fail to tell you is all computers run on whats called Front Side Bus (FSB). In a nutshell its how fast each component can communicate with each other. FSB's can be anywhere from 100MHz to 2000MHz. (even 33MHz or 66MHz on very old systems) Its like trying to fill a swimming pool with 1 garden hose as compared to trying it with a few fire trucks with fire hoses. Hence the higher the FSB the faster all of your data tranfers to all the hardware components. For instance the CPU, Motherboard, Memory(ram), Graphics card, Hard drive etc . all are made with different speeds and have a different speed FSB.

Here is an example of various CPU's
SPEED - INTERFACE - FRONT SIDE BUS SPEED - PRICE
64 3200+ / 2 . 00GHz Socket AM2 2000MHz $84. 99
64 3500+ / 2 . 20GHz Socket AM2 2000MHz $94. 99
64 3800+ / 2 . 40GHz Socket AM2 2000MHz $114. 99
64 3800+ / 2 . 40GHz Socket AM2 2000MHz $116. 99
SP 2800+ / 1 . 60GHz Socket AM2 800MHz $55. 97
SP 3200+ / 1 . 80GHz Socket AM2 1600MHz $69. 99
SP 3400+ / 1 . 8GHz Socket AM2 1600MHz $75. 99
SP 3600+ / 2 . 0GHz Socket AM2 1600MHz $107. 99
355 / 3. 33GHz Socket 775 533MHz $69. 99
351 / 3. 20GHz Socket 775 533MHz $39. 99*

As you can see in this example The first cpu on the list(64 3200+) runs at 2 Gigs and has a FSB of 2000MHz. The last cpu on the list(351) is a 3. 2 Gig and runs on a FSB of 533. In fact i have seen low end computer makers boast of a computer with a fast cpu but with further examination the motherboard could only run a FSB of 100. The end result is a bottle-necked system. The Cpu does a fast job every few milliseconds only to wait on the data to travel to the other components at turtle speed. You want a system that basically runs at the same or near the same FSB speeds on all the components. That goes for the CPU, Motherboard, Memory and somewhat the Hard Drive.

In the fowolling example i will show the differences in the speed of various Hard Drives. (NOTE by no means am i trying to refer one hard drive manufactorer over the other. I picked these at random. These manufactorers make various hard drives with varying capacities and speeds! )

1 . Seagate / 20GB / 5400 / 2MB / ATA-100 / IDE / OEM / Hard Drive
2 . Seagate / Barracuda 7200. 10 / 400GB / 7200 / 16MB / ATA-100 / EIDE / OEM / Hard Drive
3. Hitachi / Deskstar 7K160 / 80GB / 7200 / 2MB / ATA-133 / EIDE / OEM / Hard Drive

1 . The seagate in this example holds 20 gigs of data/ spins at 5400rpm/(ATA-100) has a FSB of 100.

2 . The seagate barracuda in this example holds 400gigs of data/spins at 7200rpm wich is 33% faster than 5400. So it delivers data to the mainstream 33% faster and boots up 33% faster. But it only has a FSB of 100.

3. The hitachi in this example holds 80gigs of data/spins at 7200rpm and has a FSB of 133 wich is by far the quickest of the three. So you can see from this example its not the size(gigs) of the drive but the spindle speed and FSB that make it fast. You can even get a SATA Hard Drive wich deliver data even quicker.

I could go on and on with various examples with other computer components but by now you should be getting a good idea by now. Of why some computers give blazing speed while others crawl along showing the hourglass as you wait.

But how do you get this information you ask? Its easy, buy your next system online. At TigerDirect You can purchase a Deeply discounted hi-quality system. Whereas you can check on the speed of each component to be sure you are truly getting a rabbit and not a turtle!

Personally i repair, build and upgrade computers, After years of looking for the best sources of parts, I chose Tigerdirect. Just compare the quality and prices with any other store or site and im sure that you will agree that Tigerdirect is the best.
